The show follows the life of a Gen Z couple Rishabh and Surbhi (played by Ritik and Ayesha) who work hard to attain their goals while upholding traditional family values. Their story blends love, tradition and self-identity. The trailer depicts several issues that arise when their parents meet as they prepare to marry. It also features an ensemble cast that includes Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Rajesh Jais, Jameel Khan, Rajesh Tailang and Anjana Sukhani in significant roles.
Talking about the show, Barjatya recently said in a statement, “Bada Naam Karenge is a labour of love that honours family, dreams, and traditional values in a modern world. It crosses generational boundaries, demonstrating that Gen Z can be both ambitious and deeply grounded in values,” quoted Cinema Express.
Speaking about the release of Bada Naam Karenge, Barjatya told Variety, “We had visited many platforms, and they all told us that the family drama genre does not fit on OTT since it belongs mostly to thrillers and action. I was surprised when Sony was so honest and asked us to create something based on our ideas. They wanted to bring the Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Vivah audiences to OTT to broaden their viewer base.”
Sooraj Barjatya’s last directorial venture was Uunchai starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Parineeti Chopra. The film was a hit and received good responses from fans and critics alike.
