Karachi is planning to launch a major anti-land grabbing operation involving all cantonment committees across Karachi, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Karachi is working to tackle the problem of land grabbing, especially in the central business district.
According to a spokesperson for the cantonment committee, the Korangi Cantonment Committee will launch an operation against land grabbing in Bhittai Colony and surrounding areas today.
The spokesperson further said that the operation against land grabbing will be carried out in Clifton, Defence, Darakhshan and Ghizri areas.
In addition, the Shahrah-e-Faisal Cantonment Committee has decided to launch an anti-land grabbing operation in its jurisdiction.
Malir Cantt Cantment Committee will carry out similar operations in Safoora Chowrangi and adjoining areas.
The spokesperson added that the operation against land grabbing has begun.

Earlier, at least one Station House Officer (SHO) was injured in an anti-encroachment operation in Karachi’s Federal B area.
According to details, the police said that the anti-encroachment operation was carried out in the FB area, but the local residents resisted the operation.
A police spokesperson said that more than 200 houses have been illegally built in the park.
The operation was carried out on the order of the court to demolish these illegally constructed houses.
